Well, another busy week here at the
CCM! I cannot believe how fast and slow the weeks go at the same time. I am
still loving it here, and am trying to make the most of every single day. I
love getting letters and e-mails, so please keep on writing. It makes the days
and weeks go by that much better. Well, like I said, a lot has happened this
week and we only have thirty minutes - so here we go!
Last Thursday for P day we went to
El Centro De Madrid and La Plaza Mayor. It was incredible. Honestly Spain is so
so beautiful, it is still so crazy that I am already here in the country I will
be serving in for two years. I took a lot of pics which I will try to send, the
computers here are pretty slow so I will send them a few at a time. Days here
are long and filled with headaches, laughs, and most importantly, the spirit. I
am learning so much every single day.
Friday was a longer day, but once
we dive into the lessons, and feel the spirit, I am so grateful to be here. The
most overwhelming feeling is just how happy I am to be here and to be serving
the Lord. In the grand scheme of things, two years in nothing.
Saturday morning we went to the
park. It was still pretty nerve racking because my Spanish is still pretty
rough, but I went in with a good attitude. My companion for the
day was Elder Gentry. He is from Orange County Cali, and is such a cool guy. We
were able to talk for a bit, and we realized how much we had in common. He
served on student council at his school too, so we could relate with that. We
set some pretty high metas (goals) for the park, so we got right to work on the
metro. Right when we got on Elder Gentry approached someone and I followed. We
were able to talk to a few people that gratefully could speak English. I told
Elder Gentry that he was messing around. He responded, ¨We have an incredible
message to share, let´s get to work”. That
is the mindset we need as missionaries. I love it. We had a cool experience at
the park. Right when we walked in, I saw a man on a bench reading and I felt
like we needed to talk to him. He was a
Spaniard from the south named Miguel. We talked to him for about 45 minutes in
all Spanish. I didn´t understand everything, but my Spanish has really picked
up which is such a blessing. He was very interested in the gospel message. We
got his reference and gave him a Book of Mormon. I pray he will listen. We were
very blessed.
Sunday we had tons of firesides. I love testimony meetings, especially with 40
Elders and Hermanas, the spirit was so strong. Everyone brings their own gifts
and talents. It is so amazing to see how different everyone is, but how we have
all come together for so great a cause.
Monday mornings we have a fireside
with Hermano Arjona. He is a spiritual giant. This week, he taught us about the
Atonement. Although no one will ever be able to comprehend the Atonement, I
have never seen it so clearly. He told some incredible stories.
Tuesday was a hard day because all
of my foreign friends left. It was hard to say goodbye. It is incredible to see
how the Lord sends tender mercies on a daily basis. Right when I needed to hear
it, someone played ¨Lead Kindly Light¨ my favorite hymn. That night we sang to
the EFY kiddos here. We sang Bring the World His Truth and Called to Serve. The
spirit was so strong. I cannot believe I am here - I was just in their shoes.
Wednesday we got some more visa waiters
from Provo. We now have three Dallins in my district of 10!
Today we went to the 7 session at
the Temple. It was incredible. Later today we are going to the Real Madrid
soccer stadium for a tour. I couldn´t be more excited! I will take some good
pics for you Naters;)
