Buenos días querida familia!
Well dear family, here we are again
from another corner of Spain. This past week really has been a good one. The
first week in a new area is usually tough with all of the new adjustments, but
once again, I have come to know how much the Lord loves me with this new
experience here. Let me explain.
My new companion is Elder Wiley
from Sammamish Washington. He is Adam and Tracie´s age and is such a good
Elder. He is finishing up here in March, so it looks like I will be his last companion.
It is a blessing because I have always wanted to serve with him. I am looking
forward to getting to know him more and to serve with him.
Our piso is the bottom floor of a
members home. This is the first time this has happened on my mission, but it is
such a comfort to know that they are right above us, all the time. (You will
enjoy that one mom).
The ward is great. It was so nice
getting to meet the members on Sunday. It is a BIG change from Sanlúcar with
the numbers and movement. The best way to put it is there are a lot of members,
missionaries and movement. There are about 90 members in our ward and we are 6
missionaries here. This is one of the centers of Spain so we meet in a nice
building. One of the nicest I have ever seen. It really took me by surprise to
SEE carpet, to SIT in pews, and to be able to prepare the sacrament behind
those walls in the corners of the sacrament hall. It was also so weird to hear
the organ. I know what all of my friends serving in South America are thinking,
but I am thinking the same thing. I feel far too blessed. It is definitely a
new experience for me.
On Saturday Elder Wiley and I had
the baptism of a sweet women. Due to a pretty bad rainstorm there wasn´t a
great turn out, but some members did show up to support her ordinance and the
Spirit was there. Yesterday I was blessed with the opportunity to confirm her a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was so humbling.
I am grateful for this new chapter
of my mission and everything I have learned up to this point. I pray that I may
apply all of these things in the work here.
"Because I have been given
much I too must give"
I love you all.
Un abrazo.
Elder Farrell
