Hello again dear family and
friends. Another great week in the books! It sounds like you are still all
doing well and keeping happy. It is always so good to hear from you and to hear
about all of your many blessings! Like I said, this past week was an incredible
one for Elder Bates and I. We sure have been blessed on this end.
This past week started and ended
with miracles. The beginning of the week consisted of us saying goodbye to the
man and his family that we met at the train station last week and they told us
that they were heading out to the north of Spain the next day. We were sad to
see them go, but we are grateful for the opportunity we had to meet them and to
share just a little bit about this gospel message that has blessed our lives so
richly. I pray that they may receive the Elders up there in London. They are
such an incredible family!
This week we were also able to have
some significant lessons with Al and a number of other menos activos in the
area. This week we had a cool experience with a menos activo that resulted from
just a little visit from a mission friend. Right now a friend from Germany is
here visiting and felt like he should pass by and visit a mission friend. It
turns out that right now he is passing through a really hard time and the visit
was an answer to his prayers. He ended up visiting with us the next day and
telling us, "Elders, you are an answer to my prayers. Lately I have just
been lost and I have been praying to God to find guidance again in my
life." It was a testimony to me that God answers prayers through other
people. We, and His children are truly His hands. It reminded me of the
message, The Hope of God´s Light. If you haven´t seen it, I would definitely
recommend it!
The highlight of the week of course
was the preparation, baptism, and confirmation of J. Really these past two
months have been absolutely incredible to see the progression in him and to see
how the message and the gospel of Jesus Christ really can change lives for the
better. I love this message. Anyway, this took up the brunt of our week. We
have been meeting with members, getting the interview taken care of, filling up
the font and everything here and there so that the service went well. The
service went perfectly. It was so incredible to see the branch come together
and the support they showed for this most important day for J. As we were there
in the capilla getting everything set up, I just looked around and realized
that I am with some of the most special Saints this world has to offer. They
will be blessed. It really is a special rama. As Elder Bates and I were waiting
for the portable font to fill up we were sitting in the capilla and I came
across a scripture that really hit me in Msh. 18:30
30. And now it came to pass that
all this was done in Mormon, yea by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that
was near the waters of Mormon yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon,
the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came
to the knowledge of their Redeemer yea, and how blessed are they, for they
shall sing to his praise forever.
As I looked up at the blue font, I
looked at it out of the eyes of the many converts that have come to know their
Redeemer there, how beautiful it was. J had a ton of support from his family
and the rama. He was glowing.
I love this work. I am very
grateful for you and your prayers. Have a wonderful week!
Elder Farrell
