March 16, 2015

All I have heard during my time here is how hot it gets in the summer. I feel like right after Elder Wiley left, the heat came. It is really getting warm! Welcome spring time!

This past week was another good week. We started in Málaga with a great concilio. It is so crazy how little time the Deeres have left. They have done so much good for the Spain Málaga mission. Spain will sure miss the Deeres.

Upon arriving home Tuesday afternoon, the hard work began. This past week was a big week for Elder Quispe and I. We are really working hard to find news. I am so grateful for Elder Quispe, we really get along. Once again, I have been blessed with a great companion.

This Saturday we had a fun soccer activity with the youth in the ward and some investigators. It was so fun to invite K and to have him enjoy his time. It was so sweet to have him and his mom there and involved. They are doing so well. The ward loves them.

Funny story about our number one investigator. Yesterday at church Susanna (the bishops wife) leaned over and invited her to an activity for the Relief Society the following Sat. She replied by saying that it would be hard for her to make it to the church twice that day. A little confused Susanna asked por qué? She replied, "Well, that is the night the Elders said that I am getting baptized" It makes us so happy that she wants to be baptized. Please keep her in your prayers.

I am happy, healthy, and well and grateful to be here.

I love you all.

Well dear family and friends. Another week, and another month! Man, they are going by quick now! Well, this past week was a big one. The first half of the week was a lot of farewells for Elder Wiley. On Wednesday morning I sent him off to Washington. I sure miss WileyCal he is one of my best friends!

Wednesday was a big day. Since this is a central point for a lot of traveling missionaries, we devoted the whole day split between the bus and train station directing missionaries to their destinations. It was a busy day, but gratefully everyone arrived without problem. I had a huge headache to say the least... haha. At 6 30 my new companion Elder Quispe arrived.

Elder Quispe is 23 and from Bolivia. He has lived here in Spain the last 12 years, and has such an incredible story. He is a recent convert of less than two years (he was baptized in May of 2013 right before I began my mission). He is the only member in his family, and has a heart of gold. He truly has such a strong testimony of the restoration of the gospel. I am really excited to be with him, and to learn a lot from him.

The last half of the week was pretty full and busy with missionary work. Right now our number ones continue to be the siblings. They really are progressing well, and if things continue así, they have fechas for the 21 of this month. Please keep them in your prayers.

Yesterday was such a special day, [our family] -  they were confirmed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The spirit was so so strong, and their blessings were beautiful. The Lord truly knows His children. The sweetest experience of yesterday was when I was passing the sacrament. As I neared their row, I watched her partake of the sacrament for the first time as a member. She just looked at me with a great big smile. She is so happy, I am so happy for her. Bless her. Yesterday, right after the services she asked if I could help her with her tithing. She told us that she had set this money aside all week, and was not going to touch it for anything else. She mentioned that various expenses kept coming up, but the Lord blessed her in incredible ways. My testimony of paying a full tithe has grown so much on my mission by the miracles I continue to see. On Saturday we passed by her home to find a new cat. I asked her what they named it. Their response, "Elder". It will be nice to have 3 Elders in the home.

That is it for here folks. I love you so so much.

Until next week.

March 2, 2015

Hello there sweet mother! Well, what a week! I will write all about it in my big email home! We feel so happy and grateful for this sweet family! The reason why we are writing right now is because we spent the whole morning with them! We went to a park and fed pigeons, and then we went to Ikea because she loves it!  Elder Wiley just said his goodbyes which was pretty tough for him. I am sure going to miss him. A TON. I am sick of transfers now... haha it is just rough making best friends... then they leave.

I cannot believe that Gabby is already home!? wow... that went quick! Also, that comment from Annie was the cutest thing I have ever heard! Bless her little heart!

I also cannot believe that Elder Ellsworth and his group is heading home this week?! Wow! I have had three comps from his group! It seems like we have been together in the mission together now forever! I am happy for them.

Nate is such a stud. That is so awesome that they did so well against the other team! That is also funny that Elder Nyland’s sister was on the team. Sheesh the mormon world sure is small!

I received your package and LOVED it!!! Thank you so so much! I definitely felt all of the love you packed in there:)

Elder Wiley turns 24 tomorrow, and then 2 days later my twins will be 24!! I am so so excited for them! I will definitely send them a happy wish.

Well transfers are here again! My new companion is Elder Quispe. I don´t know a lot about him, but I have heard that he is a stud. I am excited to meet him, and continue to improve my Spanish! It will be weird though because the new ZL will be in the other Elders area. So I will be getting "2" new companions. It will be interesting;)

If you look on the blog you will see a really special picture. The sweet family that I taught in Malaga. The parents got married, and baptized! It is the picture with Elder Ellsworth and Cortes was there as well!

I am happy and feel so blessed

I will write a good email home with all of the details!

I love you .
